Burning Man 2014 Re-entry: Burner and Kid Friendly Event at Art City Gardens, Ventura
How’s your re-entry going post Burning Man?
Don’t be surprised if it’s a little rough–that’s normal!
While tonight’s event at Art City isn’t exactly like being at Burning Man or at a BMOrg sanctioned event (which is why I can’t call it a Decompression Party!), it is a chance to dance around a fire under the moonlight and disco ball–and roast some food too!
Trippers Hollow and Art City Ventura present Las Saucetronauts, cooking up globetronic saucedelic hippy-hop sounds TONIGHT Sept. 5, 2014 with food starting at 6pm and music at 8pm at the Art City Gardens, 197 Dubbers off Rex off Olive off Main near the Ventura Avenue Vons.
Bring food to cook on a stick, chairs, lights, spirits. You don’t need to put on your Burner blinky best, but expressions of imagination and creativity are always encouraged.
And while you don’t need to ride your bike across the playa through a dust storm to get there, close street parking is limited, so if you can, please carpool or ride.
This event is part of Ventura’s monthly First Fridays, so you might want to ride around and check out some of the other nearby sites like–
Bell Arts Factory 432 N Ventura Ave: In the Community Room, Chalk Floor Art demonstration by artist Dawn Reily, including interactive chalk drawings. The Museum of Ventura County will feature artist Bill Solomon: #confusiontoomuch in the Tool Room Gallery. Kid’s Garden Brigade will be in the lobby with their delicious lemonade, as well as scrumptious baked goods from Gen’s Baked Goods. Live music by Deadiquette and Friends. And of course OPEN STUDIOS.
Stoneworks Studios, 300 N. Ventura Avenue: “Collaboration”…art created by collaborating with other artists, family members, kids or friends. A little of everything….Adults and Children, students and teachers, artist with artists….A Colorful Look At Life thru different eyes in a variety of mediums. Live music by Max Kasch 7-9:30. Free Event Kid friendly event, homemade chai tea….smores by the firepit….cheesecake at 8 p.m.
So put on your moon boots, your silver space suit, some spirits to drink and share, some food to roast on a stick, and we’ll see you at Art City Gardens–or at another event sometimes soon. And watch for info about official Decompression events as well as about a new Burning Man regional group in the central coast for folks who live in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties –and maybe Kern County too!
