Time to get HAPPY! First day of Spring/Fall, International Day of Happiness, and poetry!
Today is the first day or spring –or fall depending on where you are on the globe!
No matter where you are, today is the International Day of Happiness!
If you’re feeling down, and need to get happy, you can get your happy on here and dance along with people from around the world.
That’s right, 24 hours of “Happy” with an infectious sound track by Pharrell Williams. Each hour a new time zone is “unlocked” and you can see people dancing from a different part of the world. Warning: watching these happy dancing talented people is seriously addicting! Here’s one from Brazil that features some really amazing dancing:
This one from Porto was uploaded by my friends Ryan and Gabriella Opaz at Catavino and features sites and folks in that city as well of shots of them and their sweet baby! It already has 123,000 plus views!
My favorite “Happy” video is from my son’s elementary school talent show but that video is currently locked; however, here’s a shot to give you an idea!
I wonder if I put one of these videos on in my class if I could get my students to dance with me?
Which one is your favorite? Leave me a link in the comments!
PS For some spring poetry, here’s Desert Dances and another by me.
Here’s a poem by William Stafford that fits the idea of seasonal change for me.
An excerpt of a poem by Al Young on Spring.
Finally, a poem on spring by Amalio Madueno.
