MLK: Dreams Deferred Deterred Delivered

“We must use time creatively, in the knowledge that the time is always right to do right.” Martin Luther King Jr.
“We must use time creatively, in the knowledge that the time is always right to do right.” Martin Luther King Jr.
And to deliver our dreams!
Listen to it again:
and again…my favorite…
Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve.
You don’t have to have a college degree to serve.
You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve.
I have spent these recent days dreaming of dreams… how to deliver dreams deferred and deterred as best I can to my determined students …
Harlem
“Dreams are difficult to build and easy to destroy,” writes Seth Godin in section 19 of Stop Stealing Dreams. “The dreams we need are self-reliant dreams. We need dreams based not on what is but on what might be. We need students who can learn how to learn, who can discover how to push themselves and are generous enough and honest enough to engage with the outside world to make those dreams happen.”
What are your dreams? How have your educational experiences deterred, deferred or delivered your dreams? How can we stop stealing dreams?
What are your resolutions in 2023? What are environmental and social issues that you want to take action about in 2023?
