Wet Leg: DSCVR’s Artist to Watch 2022 + New Vevo Video

Wet Leg does Wet Dream

If you, like me, have been entranced by Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers new band Wet Leg surreal songs as featured on LA’s KCRW and here on Art Predator, you’ll be thrilled to watch right away this BRAND NEW RELEASED TODAY performance for the Vevo DSCVR “Artists to Watch” 2022 campaign.

Not familiar? In England’s remote and tiny Isle of Wight, post-punk-pop duo Wet Leg grew up and developed their musical sound. Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers met in college, where they enjoyed making music, but moved into careers with Rhian as a stylist and Hester as a jeweler. They decided they wanted to form a band together where they could experiment with words and sounds — to do something different. “Chaise Longue” as well as “Wet Dream” are the winning, somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but strongly feminist result; Rhian directed and styled the “cottagecore” videos as well.  Read more about Wet Leg’s Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers here.

Wet Leg says, “We’re super stoked to have been selected by Vevo to be a part of their DSCVR Artists To Watch campaign. We had A LOT of fun shooting this and are so excited to share it with you!”

And if you’re jonesing to hear a stellar live performance of their song “Chaise Longue,” check out this version which they performed for BBC’s Later… with Jools Holland:

Wet Leg’s keeping busy with live shows, preparing for a US tour in December (dates here, and new West Coast ones added below) and interviews like this one with Jill Riley on The Current:

From a press release, “Alex Morley, Vevo’s Music and Talent Manager, shares the band’s excitement and says, “Wet Leg are one of the best bands I’ve come across in a long while. From the moment I heard their excellent debut single ‘Chaise Longue’ I was hooked! Their energetic guitar hits come with a wry sense of humour and addictive melodies that leave you wanting more. Their partnership with Domino feels like a match made in heaven and we’ve no doubt that 2022 is going to be a huge year for Wet Leg. It was a joy capturing these performances and we can’t wait to hear what’s next from the Isle of Wight’s finest export!””
