It’s March 14 or 3.14.15 so Happy Pi Day! And Happy Birthday, Albert Einstein!
Today is March 14, 2015–also known as PI DAY because numerically it’s
3.1415
and twice today it gets even better!

because that’s the first 10 digits that represents pi, the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. π has actually been calculated to 10 trillion decimal place.
So Happy Pi Day!
According to the Pi Day website,
Pi (π) is the ratio of
a circle’s circumference to its diameter. Pi is a constant number, meaning that for all circles of any size, Pi will be the same.
The diameter of a circle is the distance from edge to edge, measuring straight through the center. The circumference of a circle is the distance around.
It’s also Albert Einstein’s birthday–
So Happy Birthday, Albert Einstein!
I will be toasting both with PECAN PIE of course! Here’s my pecan pie recipe…
And here’s to being irrational –today and other days too! Read what Seth Godin has to say about being irrational.
PS If you missed it this morning, be sure to check it out tonight! And if you live long enough, it will come around again in 100 years.
PS Oh and the Greeks probably pronounced it “pee” and not “pie”… but on the other hand, 3.14 spells what? Umn yep! Tshirt graphic from the Pi Day site.
PPS Oh and I actually finished this post about an hour AFTER the time 3.14.15926…in my time zone! But through the magic of WordPress, I changed the time that I published this post so it would match the first digits of pi= 3.14.15926…
