Jason Bentley named new KCRW Music Director
After 14 years of holding down the night time slot at KCRW hosting his show Metropolis and 16 years at the station, Jason Bentley will take over from Nic Harcourt who has served the past 10 years as Musical Director for the Santa Monica College public radio station.
That’s right, the music man behind films like the Matrix Trilogy and more as well as a popular dj at Coachella and other events in the LA area and beyond, and magical mixmaster for bands like West Indian Girl, this family man, this velvet voiced LA institution of a dj, finally gets a day job.
Congratulations, Jason! I know you’re going to miss revving it up with the techno on Thursday and Friday nights, but I’ve listened to you enough over the years doing your show and taking over to sub Morning Becomes Eclectic enough times to know you’ve got your pulse on LA’s happening music scene and to trust you’ll do an excellent job balancing insightful interviews with inventive music which we will all enjoy! May you be as influential in the next 10 years as your predecessor Nic Harcourt was in the past 10, and Chris Douridas and Tom Schnabel before him!

If you ask me, being able to get KCRW on the radio is the best reason for living in Southern California.
Well it was about time! I thought they would never get clue this guys is golden. They should never let him leave!
