My Saturn Return Birthday– shared with Burning Man founder Larry Harvey and WordPress founder Matt

January 11, 2021

By Leslie Wongo Rinchen

“Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else,” says Margaret Mead.

Today January 11 is my birthday. It seems like it and I should be unique but it’s not.

January 11 is also the birth date of Larry Harvey, founder of Burning Man. Going to Burning Man back in 1992 and returning 20 times since has had a huge influence on me and how I move in the world. It connected me with other like minded creative people and it connected me with my own creativity.

January 11 is also the birth date of Matt Mullenweg, founder of WordPress, this blogging platform. I wouldn’t be writing this here and now without Matt.

To celebrate this Saturn Return birthday for me, years ago I began planning a grand adventure to circumnavigate Mount Kailash, a pilgrimage to the home of Lord Ganesh, Remover of Obstacles and Patron Saint of Writers. But with COVID, not planning on doing much.

WAIT WHAT’S A WHAT? Saturn return? This is the period where Saturn will be in the same place where it was when you were born. It occurs around 28-29 years, and for many people it’s a transition from one way of living to the next — and it’s not always easy…When’s yours? .  Read more about it here, where the author states, “if you do, in fact, have Saturn in Aquarius in your chart, know that now, during quarantine, is an especially poignant time for your to be going through your Saturn return. Intellectual, innovative, and independent Aquarians have rebellious and progressive energy that is so forward-thinking, they often live in their future. So the current time-to-grow-up challenge for Saturn in Aquarius is in noting how individual powers can connect rather than divide or isolate us so we can communally thrive.”

I’d intended to write more but I’m SUPER SLEEPY and can’t keep my eyes open!

So my gift to myself is to go to sleep early! Cheers!
