53 Interesting Facts About the Number 53: #31 53% of all US voters are women
On Sundays in 2015 I post an interesting fact about the number 53; this week’s interesting fact is that 53% of all voters in 2012 were women according to this article.
Why do I bring this up? And now? On Thursday, August 7, 2015, 10 of the Republicans running for President of the United States debated. Donald Trump was particularly unkind to women –okay, misogynistic. As candidate Jeb Bush said at RedState Gathering on Saturday August 8 (as reported here):
“Come on — give me a break. I mean, do we want to win? Do we want to insult 53% of all voters? What Donald Trump said is wrong.”
A not so surprising number actually: 53% of the US population is female and 53% of those women are currently moms.
Yesterday I heard X perform “The New World” in LA:
“honest to goodness the bars weren’t open this morning they must have been voting for a new president of something do you have a quarter?” I said yes because I did honest to goodness the tears have been falling all over the countrys face it was better before before they voted for what’s his name this is suppose to be the new world flint ford auto mobil alabama windshield wiper buffalo new york gary indiana don’t forget the motor city baltimore and d.c. now all we need is don’t forget the motor city this was suppose to be the new world all we need is money just give us what you can spare twenty or thirty pounds of potatoes or twenty of thirty beers a turkey on thanks giving like alms for the poor all we need are the necessities and more it was better before they voted for what his name this is suppose to be the new world don’t forget the motor city this was suppose to be the new world
More Fun in the New World is the fourth album by the band X. Produced by Ray Manzarek and originally released in 1983, it was reissued with four bonus tracks by Rhino Records in 2002. The single “The New World” appeared on the soundtrack to the 1986 movie Something Wild.
