This was SO not me at Burning Man 2009

September 9, 2009

getting work done at Burning Man 2009 by Phil SpitlerAs you may have noticed, I was a bit negligent in posting and tweeting from Burning Man. Best laid plans and all that.

Between the dust storms and the distractions, getting to Center Camp with my laptop and finding a hot spot just didn’t happen. In fact, I only made it to Center Camp on Sunday afternoon (due to aforementioned dust storms) before we left to drop off some clothes for Andie Grace’s daughter Juniper, a few items for the Black Rock Boutique, and mail to send to Marcy Gordon who sent mail to me on the playa!hard at work at Burning Man 2009

Obviously, others were hard at work as you can see from these photographs by fellow Kidsvillian Phil Spitler. I’ll be posting more from him as well as our friend Gary and more as the photos start flowing onto the interweb.

Watch for a post later today about Wine Wednesday which we held on the playa last week. I may add photos later as they turn up.

I’ll also post info on next week’s Wine Wednesday. By the way, this month’s Green Drinks Ventura County/Thousand Oaks is tonight, Wednesday, September 9th from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm at Cholada Thai Cuisine, 1282 Newbury Rd, Newbury Park, CA 91320-3606.

I thought the point was to have fun and not keep a schedule. ;)

Does that mean you didn’t get my mail? I know some folks who received.

Brian, there is so much going on that yes you do want to keep some sort of schedule! No matter what, however, you miss out–there’s no way you can do more than a tiny fraction of what’s going on out there.

And yes, metanatural, I was graced with your beautiful envelope and card almost immediately after we arrived! Two beautiful young women delivered your card on bikes on Weds and I gave them bandanas with Lord Ganesh on them! But there was no SASE so I couldn’t send you goodies from the playa! (PS I MISSED YOU OUT THERE SOOOOOOOO MUCH!!! almost as much as Spacecat I am sure if not more!! And your part of the Cosmic Continuum artwork out there came out sooooo fabulous!! ok I’m getting too gushy even for me…)

Yay! Yes, I mailed that before you mentioned the SASE. And you weren’t supposed to the see the Skolimowsky passage until you received your card on the playa, but I posted it to FB early, forgetting you were still in town.

Glad it was such a hoot (as if it wouldn’t be)! Turned out well that I didn’t go, I’ve had a terrible summer cold the last two weeks. I would’ve been miserable.

However, this was one of the best years for continuous live stream video from the playa, and accompanied with BMIR broadcast, those left behind (Camp Envy) were well served.
