3:15 Experiment Poem: August 5, 2001–rethink

December 1, 2008

being on the road
you get disoriented
sometimes you awake
you don’t know where you’re from
you don’t know who you are
or who you’re supposed to be
maybe that’s ok
to rethink these things
decide whether someone is supposed
to be beside you or not

Yep, another “old” 3:15 experiment poem for this week’s Poetry Train. I was going through 2001 a few weeks ago and uncovered this week’s poem and last week’s and decided to roust them out of retirement and post them.  It also seems unusually timely given the recent debate and controversy on this blog and on gingaTao’s with regards to gingaTao’s Seal of Approval, badges, monetization, and who is worthy of being an arbiter of taste.

You can find more links to other poets and lots of prompts at Read Write Poem.

And remember to look at the sky at sunset tonight and tomorrow night to see the crescent moon, Venus and Jupiter shining brightly! Or as I call it, a trio of treats to be grateful for!

That’s a cool poem. Aren’t we all arbiters of own tastes. That’s why it’s called ‘taste’, I thought. And this little poem certainly accords with mine.

Thanks for reading my poem about Lorca.

I always enjoy your 3:15 poems. Just knowing you wrote it at that time casts a certain aura around the words. They came from the oracle of deep sleep, the knowing of the dream cycle, or in this case, the unknowing.

As far as awards go, you deserve lots! I just prefer those that are without a brand, but that’s my opinion only. Please don’t let any comments I made about ‘arbiter of taste’ upset you in any way. I still find the brand name on it to be pompous and arrogant – that’s my perception, nothing more. You have a lively, earthy blog, and I’ve enjoyed reading your poems I’ve found when you link up with RWP.

Thanks, Christine, for coming round and checking out my blog and latest poetry post. Glad you have enjoyed reading my blog over the months–I know you frequently have commented so! I have enjoyed your blog(s!) as well and appreciate your thoughtful responses.

We’ve all got our own brands going! May they grow and be strong!

Nice poem! I really like the idea of writing it at the same time. Makes me wish I thought of it myself!

I have been enjoying Venus and Jupiter shining brightly for the last two nights. I don’t about everyone else, but in my neck of the woods, today was a beautiful day and the night has started off the same way. :)

    Good one, artpredator…
