what’s with kyanite & night terrors?

May 17, 2008

I had never heard of kyanite before Lucy in the Sky suggested I get some to help with my night terrors, so of course now that I have bought and worn a bracelet and found it to be my latest night terror miracle cure, I wanted to know more about kyanite and its spiritual and healing qualities.

Google searches in general sent me to some ugly sell sell sell sites with annoying flashing ads and weak undocumented info, but I did come across some good information about the healing powers of kyanite and aquamarine. One of the most informative sites I found is Moon Cave Crystals. This is what she has to say about kyanite:

Kyanite: Kyanite will not accumulate or retain negative energies or vibrations. The energy of kyanite is unlimited in application, making it one of the best attunement stones. Kyanite aligns all chakras immediately and automatically with no conscious direction. If directed with the consciousness however, the energy can also open the chakras and align the emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual, ethereal, and astral bodies. It brings tranquility and a calming effect to the whole being, with particular focus on the third eye and throat chakras. Stimulates communication and psychic awareness on all levels. Dispels anger and frustration. It provides for balancing of the yin-yang energies, dispels energy blockages and facilitates meditations.

with Garnet Schist: The Garnet inspires romantic love, passion, sensuality, intimacy, positive thoughts, inspiration, energy, past life recall, career success, social popularity and self-confidence. Helps us become more productive. Assists in taking action, stimulates Kundalini, and is a “Stone of commitment.” It energizes and revitalizes, balancing energy and bringing serenity. Activates other crystals, clears negative chakra energy. Treats spinal and cell disorders, blood, heart and lungs.

Black Kyanite (Brazil) empowers manifestation of vision and clairvoyance in real time. It pushes visionary abilities deep within the self to be harnessed by physical abilities and discipline. Like its sister, Blue Kyanite, it is very helpful in meditation. It is also excellent to use during hypnosis. Black Kyanite has been said to be grounding, but please take heed, it really does not possess the mineral structure to truly ground.

Green Kyanite –“Heart of the Lioness” Kyanite in the green ray allows deep meditation to draw on the loving and healing qualities of the fourth chakra. May assist in alleviating depression through seeing the “light at the end of the tunnel.” Stimulates the incorporation of dream work and visions into daily life. Its energy is feminine and may be more attractive to those wishing to support receptive qualities in themselves as well as female visioning power

and about aquamarine:

Aquamarine: Associated with cleansing, meditation, serenity, peace, strength and the wise use of inner power. This stone is attuned to the ocean and helps us to get in touch with the nature spirits of the sea. It is traditionally used to soothe, calm, and alleviate fears and phobias. Promotes safe travel on water.

Aquamarine is a stone of courage. Its calming energies reduce stress and quiet the mind. It harmonizes its surroundings and protects against pollutants. Aquamarine allows and assists the holder to practice tolerance and non-judgment. It will support that who feel overwhelmed by responsibilities and encourages taking responsibility for self. It will help to break down old, self-defeating programs. Sharpens Intuition, opens clairvoyance, soothes fears and increases sensitivity. A wonderful stone for meditation, it invokes high states of consciousness and spiritual awareness. Encourages service to humanity

Shimmerlings also had interesting information and a very thorough easy to read layout as well as beautiful pictures of the raw stone and the polished gem quality one.

And finally, I was impressed by The Karyna Center for Transformation’s site which offers the following information:

Cool, this kyanite series is great, i realy liked the one where he said he so do I, and now you have extended it outward into the world, in the thought and the link, artwork in progress, i would say, cool bananas

i love frozen bananas in smoothies after a good night’s sleep myself so thank you Paul!

i have to admit though that the series wasn’t as premeditated as all that since it is based on real experiences…of course the narrative is shaped by the writer and thereby the experience of the reader…I am glad there is an audience for it beyond fellow night terror sufferers! I suspected as much as people are often fascinated by the hallucinatory aspect of it all.
