Lucidity Lucid Dreaming Workshops
Two more days of Lucidity Festival! Plus the Lucid Dreaming Panel Discussion is today!
Lucidity Festival takes place at Live Oak Camp located in the beautiful green Santa Barbara hills where joyous sound reverberate all day– and into the nigh– during three days of workshops, music, and activities for all ages. Find the workshops and musical presentations here.
Yesterday I gave two workshops: DIY Mouthwash and Dream Tending and Writing. See a few pictures from Thursday and Friday in this instagram post:
Most people camp out colorfully — in tents, trucks, vans, and trailers– joining themed camping areas. There’s lots of families here too! That’s where we are — in the Family Garden near the teen tent. Read more here.
Most people dress colorfully too– and there’s lots of shops to help you get even more festive! Just be sure to dress in layers– it gets quite cold here at night, but it’s lovely during the day.
Today at Lucidity I am participating in a Lucid Dreaming Panel Discussion with moderator, Jonah Gabriel Haas, the Marketing Director and a Co Founder of Lucidity Festival where, according to Jonah, we will share our use of Lucid Dreaming as a tool for expanding consciousness and as a practice for personal growth in the unique time and place we find ourselves in 2023. We will move through definitions and classic ‘What’ and ‘How’ questions clearly and somewhat swiftly, so that we can arrive at a healthy discussion of the deeper ‘Why’ questions and still leave time for audience inquiries and input.”
“We will first situate lucid dreaming by offering the methods and tools they utilize to help them engage in a meaningful practice,” said Jonah in an email to panelists. “Then we will explore a philosophical discussion about why Lucid Dreaming is an important practice in this time.”
Jonah is a lifelong lucid dreamer who’s led workshops, facilitated panels, and hosted dreaming immersions over the last 10 years at Lucidity and beyond. He is also trained as a Cultural Anthropologist and brings this perspective with him when working with people and their dreams.
The panel includes:
- Erik Casano, founder of Aquarian Alchemy. He specializes in Conscious Connected breathing, trauma release, creative visualization, ice bath, and sauna therapy. He has a tent where he does tea ceremony located near the Summit; we panelists met there yesterday and he served us delicious tea.
- Richard Hilton, AKA Beholder Sphere, produced a 12 minute documentary film on Lucid Dreaming called: Explorers of the Lucid Dream World. He studies and presents information on how to have more vivid, meaningful, and lucid dreams. He gave a workshop on the “7 Steps to Lucid Dreaming” on Friday that was very well attended.
- Sanj created Binaural Dream to explore how psychoacoustics and music can be used to help us relax, recharge and heal. He has a camp located near the Nook.
- Plus me! In case you didn’t know it, I’ve also been a lifelong lucid dreamer. I studied dream tending, social dreaming, and community dreaming at Pacific Graduate Institute as part of my Masters in Community, Liberation, Indigenous, and Ecopsychology. I see my role in the panel as discussing the role of writing practice with dream tending.
Jonah plans a session that might flow this way:
Brief Introductions
Defining Lucid Dreaming
How can we best utilize these tools in today’s world?
It should be a fabulous session! Hope to see you there!
