LA Decompression: Where you’ll find Art Predator & after parties galore!

Since Decompression Parties are like mini-Burning Man Festivals sans the Man and DUST STORMS, expect to see theme camps, wild costumes, stages with entertainment, lots of music and dancing everywhere, and to be entertained where ever you might wander! And like Burning Man itself, this is not a SPECTATOR SPORT–come dressed to participate!

Plus Decompression is a great opportunity to give and get gifts, either left over from last year’s burn or special to Decom. we have a few more stickers and bandanas to share!

LA’s Decompression Party is today from noon until midnight. Some of the places we plan to hang include a small section of the Cosmic Continuum, the major installation by Ventucky Burners. They’ll have a tent and a chill space too. My friend Malice is helping with the Green Stage, by the Yurts, and I expect we’ll spend lots of time there listening to music and speakers. We’re also looking forward to hooking up with LA Burning Moms who will have a family oriented space with fun kid activities next to the Census Wagon.

Travel light and wear layers of funness! It should be very warm–last night in downtown LA after the David Byrne Cycling Cities event it was a pleasant 70 degrees around 1030pm. Organizers recommend you park at Union Station and take the Gold Line in as parking is sketchy at the site–both in terms of safety for your vehicle and self as well as how much is available. You can go in and out until 6pm; after 6pm, gates are in only.

What to do after Decompression? In LA, the big party is Space Island, but there’s lots of other parties as well. My firend Helen gathered this list:
