Ben has tons of energy and enthusiasm, and can actually write his way out of a box. He’s a published print journalist, he’s widely traveled and he’s used social media along the way. He does all the requisite sports, he’s charitably minded, he’s in his mid-30s, and he even has a BS.
If you’ve followed the contest at all, his writing, his enthusiasm, and his charisma on camera made him not only a very competitive candidate, but clearly the winner. Although I think Erik R’s the best writer (he’s a professional journalist), creative and skilled with social media, it was obvious to me that they weren’t going to choose someone with a family.
