BPA & David Byrne’s Toe Jam
If you, like me, having heard that today was the release date for the new Fatboy Slim AKA Norman Cook aka Brighton Port Authority project, and valiantly searched in vain for it, well, the best we can do is check out this video of “Toe Jam” with David Byrne. (link above) Censorship has never been this fun before! (Warning–this video may be a bit risque for some…)

It’s a kick, isn’t it? If you’re wondering about the vintage look of the clothes and the video itself, and trying to figure it out, here’s the back story: supposedly Norman Cook (aka Fatboy Slim) and a bunch of friends worked on this project years ago and the “tapes” were lost only to recently resurface! Most amazing, however, is that Iggy Pop was involved and covered a song which wasn’t even written when he performed it! OK, if you think my version of the story is confusing, check out British Port Authority’s official one on their myspace page:
Rumour has a possible release date of July 7 but I’m not holding my breath this time…
Another rumour has Xpress 2 folks working on this project with BPA–they’re the folks behind my 2003 favorite song sung by David Byrne “Lazy”

and for something not quite completely different, here’s Fatboy Slim’s “Lazy” remix at Brighton Beach (warning, there’s a bad word repeated a few times):
