i’ve been remodeling my house since i moved in as a renter 10 years ago; i bought it nov 2001. i remodeled a bathroom. i added a bathroom. now i’m remodeling a third bathroom.
for awhile i was obsessed with tile. i think i’m over that. i’ve moved on to bathroom fixtures. more on that later.
for weeks, all the furniture was moved around in the living room and the carpet pushed aside. i spent hours rearranging tile on the floor in various patterns.
kcrw is playing whole lotta love by led zep (gary calamar says it’s off a new 2 cd set). that’s how i felt about this tile. ecstasy. frustration. out of control. moving rows and rows of tiles across the floor late late late into the night. better than sex (ok, well some sex). adding features. completing patterns. documenting. asking opinions. my sister’s been helping me. we’re about 2/3s done with the walls; 1/3 with the floor. my man is ready to thrown in the towel.
but ooooooh! it’s gonna look great. the owner of buena tile in ventucky gave me a screamin deal on 65 square feet of travertine, beautiful handmade italian ceramic listellos, and on and on…
